Job Description *US Citizenship Required* Our client, a leader in Defense technologies is seeking a skilled and seasoned Test Engineer to join their team. .*This job will be located in NJ for the first 9-12 months for training then will transition back to Indiana permanetly.* If you can temporarily live in NJ, but want to live in IN, or all ready do, and have the appropriate skills, and interest, please contact us as soon as possible. There will be some sort of housing assistance for those that need to relocate for the initial NJ based phase of this permanent position.
The Electronic Systems Test Engineering team is looking for a results oriented individual with effective communication skills who can work well in a Test Lab environment to design and develop special test systems and formulate recommendations for the purchase of commercially available equipment; establish test programs for all products and projects to ensure adherence to specifications at minimum testing cost. Must be detail oriented with strong interpersonal and problem solving skills, and demonstrate the ability to analyze work processes and make efficiency improvements in a timely manner.
As a Test Engineer, you will have the opportunity to investigate and analyze all electrical, producibility, and test problems, while deploying the concepts of Continuous Improvement and Value Based Six Sigma to meet technical, financial and schedule goals of the business area.
You will also provide advice and consultation to engineering personnel and management in areas of specialization; organize and perform special assignments requiring a high degree of technical and scientific capabilities; perform duties where the possibility of substantial and serious impact on projects through errors that can be prevented only by a sustained high degree of care and attention. There may be the opportunity to direct the technical efforts of subordinate engineers.
Experience Requirements:
B.S. in Electrical Engineering or an applicable science.
5+ years in related fields, experience in a manufacturing environment encompassing electronic design, assembly and/or test.
Applicants should be well-rounded in both electrical and mechanical disciplines relative to Test Engineering. (RF, Digital, Analog)
MUST have Labview programming experience.
Basic Skills:
1) Engineering tools (AutoCAD), Visio, Microsoft Office, Circuit Simulations
2) Documentation (Test Specifications, Test Procedures, Mechanical Layouts, Electrical schematics)
3) Software languages learned or have specific experience with Labview, HP Basic, Visual Basic, C or C++
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Must have the ability to obtain a security clearance.
