  • Position Description:

    Under the supervision/direction of the team and/or school physician, provides clinical care (prevention, evaluation, first aide, treatment and rehabilitation of athletic injury and illness) to student athletes. Works in consultation with school nurses, primary care physicians and in cooperation with school administration, faculty, and coaches to provide healthcare, teaching, documentation and record management of all sports-related injuries and illnesses. Responsible for development and implementation of safety/prevention and educational programs for students/athletes and high school coaches. Communicates directly and routinely with hospital management, school officials and parents/guardians.

    Qualifications Required:

    Familiar with local, State and Federal rules and regulations as well as National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA) and Ohio .A.T.A guidelines. Must be a licensed Athletic Trainer in the State of Ohio. Must be N.A.T.A.-BOC certified A.T.C. Must be able to work as part of a team and interact with people in a friendly, supportive manner at all times. Must have the ability to deal with a variety of situations and student personalities. Must be certified in BLS, specifically with Healthcare Provider Training and First Aid. School experience preferred. Bachelor's Degree in Athletic Training, Sports Medicine, or other related field required.
